AMAZON BACKGROUND

The Amazon Fund aims to raise funds from donations from private and public entities in order to ensure continuous, transparent and quality management. The funds raised from the Amazon Fund will be invested in special projects with the following objectives:

Protection and care of fauna and flora present in the Amazon rainforest;
Promotion and dissemination of the environmental and cultural heritage of the Amazon;
Maintenance and revitalization of rivers and tributaries to encourage the local activities;
Supporting local indigenous communities and strengthening sustainable development in the region;
Support in the recovery and reforestation of areas affected by fires and illegal burning.

BE A DONOR

Amazon Fund donors, in addition to contributing directly to biodiversity conservation and regional development, will participate in the Council for decision-making regarding the use of resources, as well as contributing to projects of various thematic axes that aim to preserve and promote sustainable community development.

GOVERNANCE

The Amazon Fund is managed by AmazoniaLife project, which is also responsible for fundraising, selecting and monitoring of projects and actions. It also has a Committee, which has the task of determining the guidelines and monitoring the results obtained from fundraising, as well as attesting emissions from deforestation in the Amazon.
